New Casts!!!

What a LONG day! We went up to Beachwood today for Claire's first post-op appointment. She got x-rays and Dr. Bill liked what he saw! Then we got new casts! Still pink ofcourse! one of the pins fell out of her little toe, (mommy almost got sick) but Claire did ok. She cried an awful lot, I think because she didn't want them to put them back on. So the big NEWS on Dec. 7th they come off!!! YAY! Then no more surgery until May, which is ok with us! The new casts are slimmer so they aren't as heave which is nice for us and Claire! I can't believe she will be 9 months in less than 2 weeks! She is starting to stand on her own so I'm sure once she gets her casts off she will be GONE! Still NO teeth! But who knows maybe we will get a Thanksgiving day surprise! We leave on Wed morning and we are READY! Can't wait to spend some time with family and relax! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! :o)

8 Months!!

Happy Girl!! She is 8 months!

Daddy and Claire Bear sleeping.....

Going for a walk with Fredpa!

Claire is 8 months today!! I can't believe it, this year is just flying by! The girl is doing great, she is not letting her casts get in the way too much. She is crawling pretty good and pulling up on the couch and cruising. She does want the casts off, which she has to have for 6 weeks we are making bets she wiggles out of them before that time is here. Her appetite is coming back! It was a little bit scary to see this girl not want food, but I guess that is expected with all the pain meds and not feeling good. We are still trying to get the night time routine down. We have been lucky to have my mom or mitch's mom stay with this week so we have had help. But tonight we will be on our own which is fine since mitch doesn't work tomorrow. We are still laying low, I haven't left the house yet and either has Claire. I have a feeling I will be stir crazy here soon! I know this is a day early but happy birthday CHLOE!!! She turns 1 year old tomorrow!! We were so sad we couldn't make it for her birthday, but hopefully we will get to see her soon. We may venture to Ashland tomorrow I am not yet sure. But all in all this weekend will be to relax. I just want to thank everyone for all their help and support! We love you all!

We are HOME!

Claire with Grandpa Richey sleeping after we got home

Monday Claire had her surgery on both hands and her right foot at Cleveland Clinic. She was not able to have work done on her left foot because they put the IV in that foot. Claire did very good the night before and up to the surgery. She had a lot of family in that waiting room! Almost 12 people! She had a lot of support and all the friends and family helped mommy and daddy to cope with everything. Around 1:30 they took her back and we got to see her around 5:45. It was the longest day of our lives! The surgery took longer than expected but she did very good. She has 3 Hot Pink Casts and has managed to whack mommy and daddy along with Grammie Tracy and Grandpa Gaylord. I am sure everyone will get their turn. She was really good on the way home she slept the whole way. When we got home was a different story! I was so proud of myself because I didn't cry too much during the surgery (especially when I walked her back and they put her asleep in my arms). But when we got home she was crying and yelling mama mama and it just broke my heart! We have been giving her pain medicine and antibiotics and she is taking them like a champ! It is hard to get her situated and hold her with the casts. And her clothes are going to be a bit of an issue, we will be cutting off some arms of clothes. But we will make it work! We are starting to get our baby back, she has started saying uh-oh! And will throw both arms up (with the casts) when we say "how big is Claire? so BIG!" She also wants to crawl and walk! She tries with the casts then cries because she is frustrated. But She is almost back to normal! She also had one tooth on the bottom start to break through. FINALLY! Talk about timing, She's got her pain meds to help her through it! We get to take the casts off in 6 weeks which is probably going to mid December (right before Christmas, Yay!). We are looking forward to the holidays and getting comfortable in our new situation. I will update as she starts new things, which I am sure these casts will not slow this girl down!
