Memorial Day

Claire loved her little flag!
Claire and Daddy!

Claire in her stroller at the parade!

Happy Memorial Day!!! We had a great day and we just want to thank everyone who has fought for our country! Especially Bryan who is in basic training now! We miss him and he is being so strong! We started our day off with the Memorial Day parade in Lexington. We walked there and then walked home and then it started to rain! We were planning on doing some yard work but didn't get as much done as planned because of the weather. Then we had my parents over for a cook out, and then it started to storm!! All in all it was a pretty good day, Claire really enjoyed the parade, I can't wait for the other ones this summer! She loves the outdoors, but she burns easily! We have been putting Sunscreen on her but I don't know what the deal is. She played in the backyard a lot this weekend!! We also had another cook out Saturday with Grammy, Grandpa J, and Uncle Jerred! We go to Cleveland tomorrow to HOPEFULLY find out her surgery date. I know it has been a common pattern in my blogs. We are going to the Columbus zoo on Wed! I am excited to take our time when we are there since we are going during the week. Other than that Claire has been all over the place lately. Her favorite thing is to throw items in the trash cans, usually my flip flops! She talks a mile a minute and sometimes you get it all and sometimes you don't! The weather has been so nice up here, a little warm but sunny! We have many trips to the park planned, and just got memberships to the YMCA and hopefully will be able to take her swimming soon!

The Zoo!

POLAR BEARS!!!
CHETAH!!!

OOOO, says Claire as she looked up at the fish and the polar bears!!

Claire and a goat!~

She didn't really want to pet them which is probably a good thing because we didn't have her covers on her hands.

We took our first trip to the columbus zoo with our memberships yesterday! It was a lot of fun and such a nice day, and A LOT people! Claire had a good time hopefully when we go during the week it won't be as busy and she can see the animals. We had some issues when we would get her out of the stroller to see an animal and then she wouldn't want back in, but until she gets her extendors out I'm not letting her run on concrete. (Mitch thinks differently but I'm not taking the risk of her falling again). We have friends that have memberships to the zoo also and so we plan on MANY trips this summer! And it looks like most of Claire's cousins are going to the zoo too! So they will have a lot of knowledge about animals! Claire had a visit from Newhope on Friday and ofcourse she charmed the pants off of her Early Intervention Specialist. She said "your welcome" and "Thank You" and "Here you go" she was pretty impressed. And so was I! Although when she asked where mommy was she went to the door and grabbed a shoe, I don't know if she was trying to say we leave a lot or what?! The girl has a mind of her own! Sunday is our day to recover from yesterday and tomorrow we have a doctor's appointment in the afternoon in cleveland. I am going to guess they will give us our date for surgery to remove her extendors. We are hoping it is sooner than later I'm going to guess the beginning of June since her extendors are starting to push through her fingers. I can't believe June is almost here, we are excited for summer so Claire can play outside and have tons of fun but hoping her casts are off soon enough for baths and playing in the pool we got for the back yard! We have a few road trips after surgeries and school, To knoxville and Ashville, and maybe a few more. We had to cancel our earlier trips just because of her hand the long trips are worse and it's not fair to either of us. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the lovely weather(hopefull it's nice)! We miss everyone and hope we can come and visit or see everyone soon!

The Park!

We made another trip to the park on monday! It was tons of fun, we met some high school friends of mine and their kids and let the kids play! We walked there of course! And we stayed for almost 2 hours! Claire had tons of fun and got to chase her around! It still makes me nervouse with the bone extendors but hoepfully soon I can let her go free! Her extendor has started to protrude out the end of her finger on her left hand, which is common. I called the Doctor today and sent pictures and we are on another round of antibiotics, whoopee! I have a feeling this might speed up the surgery date to have the extendors taken out but we will see on Monday! We had a great Mother's Day just relaxing and hanging out with one another. Claire has really really increased her talking, it's amazing! Tonight, Night Night was her big phrase, which is bed time. She will bring you a toy and say "Here" and take it back and say "Thank You" it's amazing! And man she is such a chatter box, she will talk and talk sometimes you understand and sometimes you don't but that doesn't stop her! She hasn't been falling as much, Thank God! She has the walking thing down, and is pretty happy. We bought our Zoo membership to the Columbus Zoo, (but we get into any ohio zoo too) so we can't wait to go! We are thinking about going this weekend, and I'm sure Claire will love it! Other than that, we have been trying to go for walks everyday, we both really enjoy them. Although the weather has been yucky the past few days, hopefully it will get warmer and the sun will come out! I will keep you posted as to what Dr. Seitz says on Monday. Her finger have really grown a lot! It's such an amazing thing and we can't wait to see what she will be able to do when everything is over!

14 months!

Claire walking around Grandpa Inks' room at the nursing home on Saturday! We had to stop by and say happy birthday! ( He had surgery on Monday and it went well)

Where has the time gone??? Claire turned 14 months yesterday! I can't believe how fast the time is flying by with her! We met with Dr. Seitz last Monday and everything is going great so far. She hasn't beein falling as much or is learning how to fall. She has been talking away, she said "Andrea" to her godmother Andrea and has a few phrases that she is saying; you ready? and Here you go. Have been her recent things to say. She is such a happy girl since we stopped turning her keys! Now we just have to wait for her gear to come off which is hopefully going too be soon!
